MURRAY, Ky. - Murray State senior goalkeeper Griselda Revolorio has been named Missouri Valley Conference Goalkeeper of the Week, the league announced Tuesday, following back-to-back shutouts against Marshall and Austin Peay.
Revolorio made 10 saves across the two matches and did not allow a goal in 180 minutes. She turned away both shots she faced on target in a scoreless draw at Marshall on Sept. 3, helping the Racers hold a Thundering Herd side averaging two goals per match to two shots on goal. She followed with an eight-save performance in a 3-0 win over Austin Peay on Sept. 6, Murray State's first victory of the season.
The Washington, Ind., native has started all seven matches this season and played every minute in goal, recording 34 saves. Her eight stops against Austin Peay moved her past Jenna Villacres and into fourth place on Murray State's career saves list at 225.
Revolorio also owns 17 career shutouts, third in program history behind Alex Steigerwald and Tara Isbell. She has appeared in 55 matches in goal across four seasons, fourth all time at Murray State, and her 1.12 career goals-against average ranks fourth.
Murray State improved to 1-4-2 with the win over Austin Peay, the first of head coach Ben Madsen's tenure.
The Racers return to action Thursday at Tennessee Tech. Kickoff in Cookeville, Tennessee, is set for 7 p.m. ET.
