Murray State junior newcomer Darnell Cowart has drawn comparisons to the great MSU Hall of Famer Popeye Jones with his neat moves around the basket. Indeed, it is impressive to see a guy Cowart's size move the way he is able. Cowart though, like Popeye has had a body transformation and it has allowed him to become a D-I student-athlete with the Racers. On Wayback Wednesday, a look back to the Dick Vitale visit for a record setting day at the CFSB Center in 2012 when the Racers hosted Saint Mary's. Speaking of Racer Hall of Famers, Isaiah Canaan met the Racers last week on the road to take in the EIU game and we caught up with the six-year NBA veteran as he works toward his next team.

Both Murray State Basketball teams are in action week as the postseason continues in 2026. Combining for a school record 51 wins in a single season, the Racer Women are headed to the NCAA Tournament for a second-straight season and the MSU men are playing in the NIT. And we will also check in on the progress of the turf project at Johnny Reagan Field, the home of Murray State Baseball.
