On episode 114 of the Runnin' with the Racers Podcast, former MSU All-OVC golfer, Jared Wolfe is on the cusp of qualifying for the highest level of professional golf, the PGA Tour. Out of Louisville's Butler High School, Wolfe arrived to play for Coach Eddie Hunt in the fall of 2006 and as a senior, helped the Racers win the OVC championship in 2010. In 10 years since, Wolfe has been on a steady rise in professional golf with five victories in three seasons (2017-20) on the PGA Tour's Latinoamerica circuit and the Korn Ferry Tour.

In Murray State Football lore, one of the biggest plays in the 100-year plus history of the program icame from kicker by Shane Andrus. In 2002, the Racers hosted the No. 2 Eastern Illinois Panthers, led by quarterback Tony Romo at Roy Stewart Stadium, and by the end of the day, Andrus had his moment. He booted a 52-yard field goal on the final play to give the Racers a share of the Ohio Valley Conference title. Among those who remember that day are the Voice of the Racers Neal Bradley and EIU's Mike Bradd, MSU Head Coach Joe Pannunzio and Andrus.
