Our top story this week is Murray State Baseball getting two draft choices by Major League Baseball for the first time since 1994 and only the second time since 1965. Cade Vernon (RHP) was taken by the San Francisco Giants in the 10th round and Drew Vogel (SS) was selected by the Houston Astros in the 15th round. Also big news from MSU men's golf as Sam Guest and Trey Wall are set to play in a pair of national events at the PGA Junior Championship and United States Amateur.

On this week's Racer Report Podcast, Racer Athletics celebrates their best finish in four years in the Missouri Valley Conference All-Sports Trophy with a runner-up finish. Plus a former Racer competed in the late April Boston Marathon and news from the week that was for the Murray State Racers.

In Murray State Football lore, one of the biggest plays in the 100-year plus history of the program icame from kicker by Shane Andrus. In 2002, the Racers hosted the No. 2 Eastern Illinois Panthers, led by quarterback Tony Romo at Roy Stewart Stadium, and by the end of the day, Andrus had his moment. He booted a 52-yard field goal on the final play to give the Racers a share of the Ohio Valley Conference title. Among those who remember that day are the Voice of the Racers Neal Bradley and EIU's Mike Bradd, MSU Head Coach Joe Pannunzio and Andrus.
