2008: Started all 12 games...recorded 91 tackles, eight tackles-for-loss and two interceptions...posted back-to-back double digit tackle performances against Western Kentucky and UT Martin...ended the season with 13 tackles against Tennessee State...broke up a pass on the goaline on the final play of game to preserve win...registered interceptions against Tennessee Tech and Southeast Missouri.
2007: Started all 10 games in which he appeared...missed one game due to injury...led the team in tackles (79), sacks (5.0) and tackles-for-loss (10.5)...posted his first career double-digit tackle performance with 11 tackles against Lambuth...followed that up with a 13-tackle effort against Tennessee Tech...ended the season with 10 tackles and a forced fumble against Austin Peay.
2006: Started every game at linebacker as a true freshman...named to OVC All-Newcomer team...led the OVC and finished tied for sixth in the nation with an average of 0.36 forced fumbles per game...finished his first season with 69 tackles, 9.5 tackles-for-loss, one sack, one interception, one fumble recovery and four forced fumbles.
HIGH SCHOOL: Butler helped Riverdale High School to a perfect 15-0 state championship season as a junior...Riverdale High School went 13-1 his senior season and made it to the state semifinals...named to the all-region squad twice, earned second-team all-state honors as a junior and was named first-team all-state as a senior...had 85 tackles and nine sacks his junior season, and 90 tackles and seven sacks as a senior...in four prep seasons, Butler’s teams combined for a 49-5 record.
