Murray State Athletics Media Policy
The Murray State Athletics Communications office strives to promote all 15 intercollegiate athletics programs by servicing local, regional and national media outlets. The department’s goal is to continually share and promote the stories of the Athletics Department and its student-athletes, coaches, administration, alumni and fans.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should a media member contact a Murray State coach or student-athlete directly. If you would like to schedule an interview, please contact a member of the Athletics Communications staff.
Web based entities that are not accredited media organizations, message boards and/or chat rooms that allow anonymous posts and fan podcasts will not be granted interviews with Murray State coaches and student-athletes.
Post-game interviews following home contests will be conducted after a 10-minute cooling off period. Coaches and selected student-athletes will be brought to the designated interview area.
All pre-contest and telephone interviews must be made at least 24 hours in advance through the Communications and Public Relations office. Interviews will be scheduled when student-athletes and staff’s schedules allow.

Media wishing to attend should schedule it through the MSU Athletics Communications office. Please check with on times and availability for a specific sport. Locker rooms are NOT accessible to the media.

The individual applying for credentials must be an accredited media member, verified by the home or visiting SID as working media.
The online credential form will be used for all requests.

MSU Athletics requires media partners to follow fair use doctrine and copyright law when using releases and stories found on GoRacers.com. MSU Athletics asks media outlets to appropriately credit Murray State Athletics when publishing or posting information.

PRACTICE ACCESS POLICY
All practice sessions are CLOSED to the media unless otherwise specified by a member of the Murray State Athletics Communications office. Media wishing to attend should schedule it through the MSU Athletics Communications office. Please check with on times and availability for a specific sport. Locker rooms are NOT accessible to the media.

CREDENTIAL POLICY
Credentials are issued based on the following priorities and guidelines.The individual applying for credentials must be an accredited media member, verified by the home or visiting SID as working media.
The online credential form will be used for all requests.
Credentials will be extended to:
- Personnel working on live radio and television broadcasts.
- Media outlets that regularly cover Murray State and visiting teams.
- Wire services, regional and national publications that are non-daily.
- Non-originating radio and television personnel – Only local radio/TV outlets with a full-time sports director conducting regular sportscasts.
- Officially recognized Murray State or opponent student newspapers and electronic operations.
- Credentials are non-transferable. Any transfer will result in immediate revocation.
