Personal
- Enters his first season with the Racers in the 2023 season.
- Serves as Co-Defensive Coordinator and coaches Defensive Line.
Before MSU
- Has coached the game for more than three decades on the defensive side of the ball.
- Joined the Racers after coaching at Emory & Henry in 2021.
- Served as a defensive consultant for Mississippi State in 2019.
- Was on staff for a total of nine years at West Virginia across two stints with the Mountaineers in 2003-08 and 2015-19.
- In his early career, coached at Cornell and then his alma mater Ohio Wesleyan, Northeastern, Harvard and Western Michigan.
- Also coached from 2008-15 at Michigan and Charlotte.
- Been a part of teams that played in 11 bowl games, including all nine seasons in which he worked at West Virginia. The Mountaineers won the 2005 Sugar Bowl, 2006 Gator Bowl and 2007 Fiesta Bowl and picked up a victory in the 2015 Cactus Bowl with Tall on the sidelines.
- Completed internships with National Football League teams including the Detroit Lions (1991, 1999), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1994), Chicago Bears (1998) and Green Bay Packers (2000).
Personal
- A three-year letterwinner in football at Ohio Wesleyan.
- Earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in health & physical education in 1982.
- A native of Shaker Heights, Ohio.
- Tall and his wife, Karmen have three children: Braythan, Karsyn and Kallyn.
