Graduate assistant for the Gators from 1978-80 while learning from the likes of assistant coaches Mike Shanahan and Steve Spurrier.
Spent the first part of his professional career in the private sector with Steelcase in the late 1980s and 1990s.
Joined football coaching ranks 2003 at Liberty where he stayed until 2012.
Coached in the National Football League with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2013.
Returned to Liberty in 2014 as director of player personnel and recruiting.
Served as associate head coach at Eastern Kentucky in 2015.
Spent 2016-18 seasons as assistant coach and special teams coordinator at Charlotte.
Returned to his alma mater Florida from 2019-22 as director of player personnel and recruiting.

Playing Career

With the Florida Gators, was a key defensive player on three bowl teams (1974 Sugar Bowl; 1975 Gator Bowl and 1976 Sun Bowl).

Personal

Native of Miami, Florida.
1978 Florida graduate with a degree in criminal justice.
Earned master’s degree in public administration from Florida in 1980.
Charlie and his wife, Ann, have three children – Sarah, Charlie IV and Jacob.
Charlie IV is an assistant coach at Albany State, while Jacob is an assistant at Sterling.
