Before MSUÂ
Personal
- In 2025 is in his fourth season with Murray State.
- Began his role of director for the the Strength and Conditioning Unit for the Murray State University Athletics Department in spring of 2022.
- Works primarily with the football program while overseeing the unit operations and development for all 15 sport programs at Murray State.
- He also works with the women's golf, softball, and soccer programs.
Before MSUÂ
- Spent nine years as the Director of Strength and Conditioning at Wofford College overseeing the physical preparation for all 19 sports, while working mainly with the football team in addition to the golf programs.
- Joined the Wofford staff in June of 2013 after completing six seasons as an Assistant Strength Coach at the University of Memphis, which was his second tenure with the program.Â
- At Memphis, was responsible for men’s and women’s soccer teams training programs and short sprints, hurdles, and jumps for track and field teams as well as assisting with football and baseball.  Â
- Prior to returning to the University of Memphis in 2007, Medler was the Head Strength and Conditioning Coordinator for Union Public Schools in Tulsa Oklahoma.Â
- As the first ever strength coach for Union, he was in charge of building a training program for all freshman, junior varsity and varsity athletic teams.
- His initial experience at the University of Memphis began in the summer of 2004 as a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach working with football, baseball, softball, and the track sprinters.Â
- He began his professional career in the strength and conditioning field at Anderson University, a liberal arts NCAA Division III school in Indiana.
- While at Anderson, Medler was responsible for training the football team and coaching the defensive line.
Personal
- Native of Noblesville, Indiana, Medler was a four-year football letterman at Hanover College, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in sociology in 2002.Â
- Graduated with his Master’s Degree in Human Movement Sciences from The University of Memphis in the spring of 2006
- Is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength & Conditioning Association, Level One Certified Coach with USA Weightlifting, and Level One Certified through the Titleist Performance Institute.
- Medler and his wife, Ashley, reside in Murray with their sons, Nythaniel and Moses.
