At Murray State
- Joins the Racers for a second era as assistant coach in the 2024-25 season.
Before MSU
- Coached at Arkansas-Pine Bluff from 2021-24 as Associate Head Coach.
- Returns to Murray State after his first era with the Racers as graduate assistant to head coach Steve Prohm from 2011-14.
- Was part of the 2011-12 team that became the darling of college basketball as the final undefeated team in the nation at 23-0 and a team that broke into the top-10 nationally.
- at Murray State, worked with MSU Hall of Famers and NBA Draft selections, Isaiah Canaan in his senior season and the freshman season of Cameron Payne.
- The Racers were 75-23 in Sherrer's three seasons on the bench.
- Coached at Three Rivers College in Poplar Bluff, Missouri under Hall of Fame coach Gene Bess and his son, Brian Bess from 2014-21.
- Recruited 37 players to Three Rivers that went on to play at four-year programs, 19 that played at the NCAA Division-I level and five NJCAA All-America players.
- Also played at Three Rivers from 2006-08 and was NJCAA Region-16 Player of the Year and NJCAA All-America.
- Was team captain at South Alabama 2008-10.
- In 2010, was eighth in the nation in free throw percentage at 90.1 as a senior at South Alabama.
Personal
- Earned his undergraduate degree in Organizational Communications from South Alabama in 2011.
- Graduated from Murray State in 2013 with a master's degree in Human Development & Leadership.
- From of Monticello, Ark., was a three-time Arkansas All-State pick (2004-06) while playing for his father, Wayne, at Monticello High School.
