Taylor Miller is entering her first season as an assistant coach with the Murray State cross country and track and field teams and will be working primarily with the distance runners.
A native of Owensboro, Kentucky, Miller is a graduate of the University of Kentucky in Lexington, where she was a member of the cross country and track teams. As a Wildcat, she was team captain for the '06-'07 season, an All-SEC performer in the 10,000 meters, and the recipient of multiple Southeastern Conference All-Academic honors.
On the track, Miller holds the fifth fastest time in school history in the 10,000 meter run, crossing the line in 35:45 at the Stanford Invitational. She was also a regional qualifier in the 5,000 meters, running 16:50 at the University of Tennessee's Sea Ray Invitational.
After graduating summa cum laude from UK with a B.A. in English, Miller joined Teach for America and moved to Los Angeles, Calif., to teach secondary English. While in California, Miller taught English at Lou Dantzler Charter High School. While at Lou Dantzler, she also coached the school's first ever men's and women's track teams.
