Clay Wagoner

At Murray State

Began as the Director of Athletic Communications at Murray State in the 2023-24 school year after completing a graduate assistantship with the Racers in 2023.
During his time as a GA, Wagoner oversaw communications efforts for the Baseball, Women's Soccer, and Women's Tennis programs while serving as the primary contact for football throughout the spring of 2023.
With an exceptional effort in social media strategy, the Racers realized a growth of over 20,000 new followers from 2021-23 across all profiles managed by Wagoner.

Before MSU

Named "Outstanding Student in Public Relations" for the 2021 graduating class while also serving as the Vice President of the Communications Major Association.
At FHU, worked with the sports information staff for the Lions on press releases, live video, and official stat keeping.

Playing Career

Was a student-athlete at Freed-Hardeman and a four-year pitcher on the baseball team.
Was part of two FHU teams that appeared in back-to-back NAIA World Series in 2018 & 2019 and finished as a National Runner-Up in 2018.
Multi-time Academic All-Conference Member while at FHU

Personal

Native of Bowling Green, Ky.
Earned his Master of Science degree in Organizational Communication and Leadership from Murray State University in 2023.
A 2021 graduate of Freed-Hardeman University, Wagoner, studied Public Relations.
Resides in Murray with his wife Ann Elise
