Erik Dahl - Staff Directory

- Title:
- Assistant Coach
Erik Dahl joined the Murray State baseball staff ahead of the 2027 season, bringing 15 years of coaching experience, two NAIA national championships and nine NAIA World Series appearances to Johnny Reagan Field.
Dahl came to Murray from Florida Southern, where he spent the 2026 season with the Mocs. Florida Southern finished 26-22, the program's latest 25-win campaign, and upset No. 1 Tampa in a conference series. Dahl coached three all-conference honorees there, one of whom earned ABCA South Region All-Defense recognition.
He spent the 2025 season on staff at Webber International, which followed eight years at Southeastern University from 2017 to 2024. At SEU, Dahl was central to an offense that led the NAIA in numerous categories across his tenure, and he coached the hitters on the teams that won the Avista-NAIA World Series in 2018 and 2022. He was named NAIA Baseball Assistant Coach of the Year in 2022 following the second of those titles.
Before Southeastern, Dahl served as an assistant coach at Point University in 2017. He began his full-time coaching career at Sterling College in Sterling, Kansas, where he spent five seasons as head assistant coach. The Warriors finished among the national top 10 in eight offensive categories during that span: batting average (first in 2016, second in 2015), home runs (first in 2016), hits (first in 2016, seventh in 2015), doubles (second in 2016), slugging percentage (second in 2016, fourth in 2015), stolen bases (fourth in 2012), runs batted in (sixth in 2016) and runs scored per game (sixth in 2012). Sterling's offense helped carry the program to five consecutive NAIA opening-round appearances and two trips to the Avista-NAIA World Series, in 2013 and 2016.
Across his career, Dahl has coached three Gold Glove catchers, and more than 45 of his players have gone on to sign affiliated or independent professional contracts.
Dahl began his playing career at Ridgewater College in Willmar, Minnesota, where he was part of back-to-back Junior College World Series teams and finished as a national runner-up in 2005. He transferred to Northwestern College and earned All-UMAC first team honors in his lone season there, and he still holds the program's single-season records for home runs (12), RBI (49), slugging percentage (.743) and total bases (104). Dahl finished his playing career at Sterling College in 2010 and earned his degree in sports management.
Dahl and his wife, Ashley, have one daughter, Olivia .
