- Spent 20 seasons as an assistant coach at Murray High School.
- While at MHS, Evans helped lead the Tigers to the All-A State championship in 2016
- State runner-up finish in 2015.
- The Tigers won 12 All-A Region championships under Evans.
- MHS won five District 4 titles and three Region 1 championships while Evans was there.
- Helped lead the Tigers to back-to-back KHSAA Final Four appearances.
- Coached three all-state players while at MHS.
