Matt Kelly

At Murray State

Matt Kelly is in his 20th year with Murray State Athletics in the 2025-26 school year.
In 2022, served Murray State Athletics as Interim Director of Athletics, setting the stage for current AD, Nico Yantko.
Has been in his role as Senior Associate Athletics Director since 2013.
Prior to that, Kelly served as associate athletics director for internal operations and assistant director of athletics for academics.
Served as the chairperson of the NCAA Rifle Championships Committee.
Is an adjunct instructor in sport sociology at Murray State.
Developed the original program for MSU student-athletes, to prepare for life after competition. That program is now known as the Dennis Jackson Leadership program.
Serves on the NCAA Initial Eligibility Waivers Committee (IEW).

Before MSU

Spent two years at the University of Missouri-Kansas City as the Assistant AD for student-services.
For four-and a-half years, was academic advisor for the football, swimming and diving teams at Florida State University.
Worked as also a graduate assistant for academics at Eastern Kentucky University.
