Racers outshoot Austin Peay in air rifle

The Racers were led by junior Robert Purdy, who fired a 390 out of a possible 400 with target scored of 97, 96, 98 and 99. Senior Morgan Hicks shot a 389 with individual targets of 98, 97, 97 and 97.
Sophomore Alex Culbertson picked up the only perfect target in the match, firing a 387 with targets of 96, 97, 100 and 94, while freshman Justin Sparks shot a 381 with targets of 94, 96, 95 and 96.
In unscored shooting, junior Mike Gardner shot a 379 with targets of 98, 91, 95 and 95, while senior Beth House fired a 370 with targets of 96, 93, 89 and 92.
For Austin Peay, Corey Hasty led the way with a 369, while Lindsay Vanest scored a 364. Jennifer Pope shot a 358, while Jana Sullivan fired a 346.
Murray State will take a month off before competing in Xavier's Walsh Invitational on Nov. 8 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
