SIU Match Tabbed As "Break The Record" Night
10/8/2003 12:00:00 AM | Women's Volleyball
The Murray State women's volleyball team is on fire, having won its last 11 matches and 29 of its last 30 games, and the Racers would like nothing better than to burn regional rival Southern Illinois this Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Racer Arena.
To help MSU hound the Salukis, the Murray State athletics department is sponsoring a “Break the Record” night to bring in as many Racer fans as possible to help push Murray State past SIU. The goal is to have at least 1,000 fans in attendance at Racer Arena.
Free prizes will be given out, and there will be contests for residential colleges and Greek organizations for the most fans, most impressive group and the group showing the most spirit. The winning groups will each get 10 free pizzas to be delivered to the arena.
Murray State has won 11 straight Ohio Valley Conference regular-season matches, dating to last year, and has notched seven straight shutouts this season. MSU hasn't lost a game to an OVC team in its last seven regular-season league matches. The Racers are 11-4 overall and on top of the OVC standings at 6-0.
Murray State invites its supporters to bring a friend to Racer Arena Tuesday night and come watch the new champions of Racer Arena: the MSU volleyball team!
