Racers take early lead in Walsh Invite; Hicks leads all shooters with 1575 score

The Racers lead with an aggregate (smallbore and air rifle combined) score of 6193. Tennessee Tech is currently second at 6148, followed by Rose-Hulman Tech at 6108, Missouri-Kansas City at 6022, Tennessee-Martin Mixed at 6019 and Tennessee-Martin Women's at 5852.
Other teams will shoot Nov. 14-16 and Nov. 21-23. Host Xavier will shoot on Nov. 15.
Murray State shot a 4638 out of a possible 4800 in smallbore, then fired a 1554 out of a possible 1600 in air rifle.
Individually, senior Morgan Hicks (Roy, Wash.) has the best aggregate score, notching an 1179 out of a possible 1200 in smallbore and a 396 out of a possible 400 in air rifle for an aggregate of 1575.
Sophomore Alex Culbertson (Salem, Ore.) shot an 1168 in smallbore and a 382 in air rifle for an aggregate of 1550, while junior Robert Purdy (Gainesville, Texas) fired an 1151 in smallbore and a 388 in air rifle for a 1539 and freshman Justin Sparks (Oil City, Pa.) shot an 1141 in smallbore and a 388 in air rifle for a 1529.
Non-scoring results for Murray State included senior Beth House (LaPlata, Md.) shooting an 1146 in smallbore and a 379 in air rifle for a 1525 and junior Mike Gardner (Haslett, Mich.) firing an 1137 in smallbore and a 371 in air rifle for a 1508.
