Racers rank high in OVC statistics

Member of the Murray State women's volleyball team and the team itself rank highly in several Ohio Valley Conference statistics, according to information released by the OVC office.
The Racers (3-4, 1-0 OVC) lead the 11-team league with 16.14 kills per game and 14.71 assists per game and rank second with an attack percentage of .252. MSU is fourth with 16.50 digs per game and fifth with 1.77 blocks per game.
Individually, Murray State boasts three of the top five players in the conference in attack percentage, including sophomore setter Nikki Wong in second at .364, sophomore middle blocker Abbi Gui in fourth at .315 and freshman outside hitter Lilli Zhan in fifth at .302.
Gui is in fourth in the OVC with 4.14 kills per game, followed by sophomore outside hitter Paige Sun in fifth at 4.07 kills per game.
Junior middle blocker Danielle Sutterer ranks third in the OVC with 1.00 blocks per game, while Wong is fourth in assists with 11.04 per game, and Sun is fifth in digs with 3.93 per game.
In points -- which includes all kills, aces and blocks -- Gui is third in the conference with 4.66 points per game, while Sun is fifth with 4.55 points per game.
Murray State is atop the conference standings after its 3-0 win over defending champion Tennessee-Martin Tuesday night in Racer Arena. The Racers will take part in the MTSU Invitational in Murfreesboro, Tenn., this weekend, facing Western Illinois on Friday at 4:30 p.m., Appalachian State on Saturday at 10 a.m. and host Middle Tennessee State on Saturday at 7 p.m. LiveStats will be available for all matches at www.GoBlueRaiders.com.
