Racers Dominate MSU Invitational

Senior Jeremy Burkeen won the individual title to lead the Murray State men's cross country team to a dominating team title at the MSU Invitational today in Murray, Ky.
The Racers scored 17 points followed by Tennessee Tech in second with 42 points and Bethel College in third with 80 points.
Burkeen, a native of Benton, Ky., covered the 8-kilometer course in 26 minutes, 34 seconds to lead four MSU runners in the top four individual spots.
Juniors Tim Bradley (St. Louis, Mo.) and Brandon Lancaster (Central City, Ky.) tied for second with times of 26:50 each, followed by freshman Ryan Stichter (Milford, Ind.) in fourth with a 27:29.
Freshman Patrick Hammond (Lexington, Ky.) was eighth with a time of 28:25, followed by sophomore Michael Sullivan (Princeton, Ky.) in 11th with a 29:23 and freshman Matt Hebert (Frankfort, Ky.) in 12th with a 29:28.
