Sun OVC Offensive Player Of The Week For Second Straight Week, Leads OVC

For the second time in as many weeks, sophomore outside hitter Paige Sun was named the Ohio Valley Conference Offensive Volleyball Player of the Week.
Sun -- who leads the conference with 4.41 kills per game -- averaged 6.83 kills per game in Murray State's two matches last week, getting match-highs in both matches with 20 kills at Morehead State on Friday and 21 at Eastern Kentucky on Saturday.
Sun also hit for a .351 attack percentage last week, making only eight errors in 94 attacks.
Sun also averaged 0.67 aces per game last week in serving up four aces in her six games, making no service errors. She also averaged 3.67 digs per game and 0.33 blocks per game.
This week, Sun also ranks sixth in the OVC with 3.89 digs per game and seventh in the league with 0.41 aces per game.
Murray State (8-4, 3-0 OVC) is on an eight-match win streak, one short of the school record, including four straight shutouts, having won 20 of its last 21 games. The Racers host OVC newcomers Samford on Friday at 7 p.m. and Jacksonville State on Saturday at noon. Both matches will be played in Racer Arena.
