Racers host annual Roger Withrow Invitational; score 6169 at UTM

Murray State is coming off of a good showing at the Tennesee-Martin Invitational, being held Jan. 29-31. The Racers shot a 4636 out of a possible 4800 in smallbore and a 1533 out of a possible 1600 in air rifle for an aggregate of 6169.
Morgan Hicks shot an 1169 out of a possible 1200 in smallbore and a 392 out of a possible 400 in air rifle for an aggregate of 1561 to lead MSU. Robert Purdy fired an 1160 in smallbore and a 388 in air rifle for a 1548, while Alex Culbertson shot an 1155 in smallbore and a 379 in air rifle for a 1534 and Justin Sparks fired an 1152 in smallbore and a 374 in air rifle for a 1526.
Shooting today in the Roger Withrow Invitational are Murray State (smallbore (SB) and air rifle (AR)) and Memphis (SB and AR). On Saturday, Tennessee Tech (SB, AR), Tennessee-Martin (SB, AR), Jacksonville State (SB, AR), Ohio State (SB, AR), Mississippi (SB, AR), Mercer (AR) and Austin Peay (AR) will shoot. On Sunday, Kentucky (SB, AR), Missouri-Kansas City (SB, AR), Tennessee-Martin (SB, AR), Morehead State (SB, AR), Centenary (SB), Saint Louis (AR) and Alabama-Birmingham (AR) will shoot.
Murray State will host an NCAA Sectionals on Feb. 13-15, then the Ohio Valley Conference Championships Feb. 20-22 and the NCAA Championships in March.
