Hicks is the fourth Racer to earn eight rifle All-Americans. Other such honorees included Olympians Pat Spurgin (1984-87) and Deena Wigger (1986-90), who each earned First-Team honors in both guns each year at MSU, and Marra Hastings (1997-2000), who had four First-Team honors and four Second-Team honors. Hicks had seven First-Team awards and was named to the All-American Second Team in smallbore in 2003.
Racer rifler Robert Purdy was named to the All-American Second Team for smallbore and air rifle, giving him a total of four All-American honors, including a First-Team award in air rifle in 2002 and an Honorable Mention Team award in air rifle in 2003.
