Racers oust Tennessee Tech 4-0 in battle of unbeatens to claim third place

Before the Ohio Valley Conference Women's Tennis Championship began Friday, many thought that OVC regular-season unbeatens Murray State (9-0) and Tennessee Tech (5-0) would meet in the final round. Although most thought those teams would meet in the championship match, the Racers made the most of the showdown, blanking Tech 4-0 to claim third place in the Championship.
Tennessee Tech opened the match by forfeiting all three of its doubles matches for exceeding the time limit to get to the court, giving the Racers the doubles point. It was all downhill from that point, as Murray State (19-6) lost only five games in the three singles matches played.
Anna Lask won at No. 3 singles over Margot Carter 6-2, 6-0, while Jenninfer Ward won at No. 4 singles over Melisa Cansado 6-0, 6-1, and Rachael Lask won at No. 5 singles over Alicja Kutyla 6-1, 6-1.
