Racers win 6-1 at Eastern Kentucky

The Murray State women's tennis team won 6-1 at Eastern Kentucky in an Ohio Valley Conference match in Richmond this afternoon.
Murray State (12-5, 4-0 OVC) won all three doubles matches to win the doubles point, then won five of the six singles matches to take the win over the Lady Colonels (10-9, 3-3 OVC).
In singles play, Melissa Spencer won at No. 1 singles over Hannah Bartsch 6-4, 4-6, 6-3, while Jaclyn Leeper won at No. 2 singles over Lindsay Herrera 6-4, 6-3, and Anna Lask won at No. 3 singles over Lucia Vojtkova 6-1, 6-2. Rachael Lask won at No. 5 singles over Tessa Williams 6-1, 6-1, while Casady Pruitt won at No. 6 singles over Janina Dickhardt 6-3, 7-6. Jennifer Ward fell at No. 4 singles to Terin Roof 7-6, 6-1.
In doubles play, Leeper and Spencer won at No. 1 doubles over Herrera and Roof 8-3 in the eight-game pro set, while the Lasks won at No. 2 doubles over Bartsch and Dickhardt 8-0, and Pruitt and Ward beat Vojtkova and Williams 8-2.
Murray State plays at Morehead State tomorrow (Saturday) at 10 a.m. CT, then returns home to take on OVC rival Tennessee-Martin on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.
