Volleyball opens practice, ready to defend OVC title

The Murray State volleyball team opened its pre-season practice on Wednesday, seeking to defend its Ohio Valley Conference Tournament title and return to the NCAA Championship Tournament.

"Right now, everything's going OK," said head coach David Schwepker. "This week, we're just going through our rotations and getting some time to gel. They are working hard, and weather has been really cooperating. It's been awesome."

Murray State opens its schedule on Sept. 3 at Indiana in the Indiana Invitational. The Racers open their home and conference slates on Sept. 24 against defending OVC regular-season champion Morehead State.
