Racers win dual match at UTM

Murray State's Gold team scored a 3845 out of a possible 4000, while Murray State Blue shot a 3773. Tennessee-Martin's Mixed team shot a 3728, while the UTM Women's team fired a 3700.
For Murray State Gold, senior Robert Purdy shot a 579 out of a possible 600 in smallbore and a 389 out of a possible 400 in air rifle for an aggregate (combined) score of 968. Junior Alex Culbertson had a 574 in smallbore and a 386 in air rifle for a 960, while sophomore Justin Sparks had a 573 in smallbore and a 386 in air rifle for a 959 and sophomore Josiah Brooks fired a 575 in smallbore and a 383 in air rifle for a 958.
For Murray State Blue, freshman Cameron Hicks, the brother of MSU Olympian Morgan hicks, had a 583 in smallbore and a 382 in air rifle for an aggregate of 965, while sophomore Brandy Boucherie had a 573 in smallbore and a 376 in air rifle for a 949. Freshman Dan Belluzzo had a 559 in smallbore and a 371 in air rifle for a 930, while senior Mike Gardner had a 561 in smallbore and a 368 in air rifle for a 929.
Murray State next competes on Saturday at Jacksonville State, then on Sunday as part of the Tiger Open Air Rifle Match at Memphis, Tenn.
