Racer defense leads nation for third straight week

Murray State is among good company in defense in the Ohio Valley Conference, as Eastern Illinois is ranked third at 19.18 digs per game, Austin Peay is 22nd at 18.07 dpg and Eastern Kentucky is 27th at 17.73.
Freshman libero Heather Norris continues to climb the rankings among the nation's best, this week ranked 11th, her highest ranking this season. Norris leads the OVC with 5.64 digs per game.
Norris repelled a season-high 37 digs at Eastern Illinois on Saturday, the most by any Racer since Chandra Brashers had 38 digs against EIU on Oct. 4, 1997. That was her second listing among the national 30-Digs Club, as she collected 31 digs at Western Illinois on Sept. 10.
Brittany Nobilio of Eastern Kentucky is ranked 14th in the nation with 5.48 digs per game.
