Racers lead nation in digs for fourth straight week

The Murray State volleyball team leads the nation in digs per game for the fourth straight week, averaging 20.5 digs per game.

The national Division I rankings were issued by the NCAA earlier today (Tuesday).

Four Ohio Valley Conference teams rank among the top 20 in the nation in digs per game: Murray State, first; Eastern Illinois, sixth, Eastern Kentucky, 10th; and Austin Peay, 18th.

Freshman libero Heather Norris dipped to 12th in the nation with 5.68 digs per game after attaining her highest ranking of the season last week at No. 11. EKU's Brittany Nobilio, who had been right behind Norris in the OVC digs rankings throughout the season, passed her this week, and is ranked 11th in the nation with 5.75 digs per game. Debora Seilhamer of Southern California leads the nation with 6.37 digs per game.

Murray State closes out its home season this weekend with matches against Eastern Kentucky on Friday at 7 p.m. and against Morehead State on Saturday at 2 p.m.
