Racers ranked No. 1 nationally in digs per game, Norris ranked 16th

The Murray State women's volleyball team topped the national rankings this week in digs per game, averaging 20.20 through Oct. 3. Freshman libero Heather Norris remains ranked among the best in the nation in defense, as NCAA statistics lists her at No. 16 in Division I with 5.51 digs per game.
Norris was ranked 28th in the nation last week, and has been ranked as high as 14th after the first week of competition. The native of Naperville, Ill., has led the Ohio Valley Conference each week in digs per game.
Norris is joined on the top-20 digs list by Eastern Kentucky's Brittany Nobilio, who ranks 20th in the nation with 5.44 digs per game. Kelli Dickson of Tulane leads the nation with 7.00 digs per game.
Murray State opens a four-match road swing tomorrow (Friday) at Morehead State.
