Racers fall at Mississippi

The Murray State women's tennis team visited Southeastern Conference opponent Mississippi on Wednesday and came away with a 7-0 loss.

In singles play, Anna Lask fell at No. 1 singles to Chloe Carlotti 6-2, 6-3, while Jaclyn Leeper lost at No. 2 singles to Ilona Somers 6-0, 6-0, and Jennifer Ward fell at No. 3 singles to Nika Koukhartchouk 6-1, 6-0. Rachael Lask lost at No. 4 singles to Virginia Tomatis 6-4, 6-0, while Casady Pruitt fell at No. 5 singles to Mimi Renaudin 6-2, 6-2, and Tami McQueen lost at No. 6 singles to Preethui Subramanian 6-1, 6-2.

In doubles play, the Lasks lost at No. 1 doubles to Carlotti and Tomatis 8-4 in the eight-game pro set, while Pruitt and Ward fell at No. 2 doubles to Renaudin and Somers 8-5 and Leeper and Whitney Robards lost at No. 3 doubles to Koukhartchouk and Carlin Cochran 8-6.

Murray State (0-1) will visit Missouri today (Friday), then will take on Iowa State in Columbia, Mo., on Saturday.
