Racers prepare for OVC Tournament

The Murray State women's tennis team will have the No. 2 seed in the opening round of the O'Reilly's Ohio Valley Conference Women's Tennis Championship, to be played Friday through Sunday at the Centennial Sportsplex in Nashville, Tenn.
Murray State (13-6, 8-1 OVC) opens the championship against No. 7 Morehead State on Friday at 1:30 p.m. Other first-round matches have No. 1 Tennessee-Martin facing No. 8 Eastern Illinois (1:30 p.m.), No. 3 Tennessee Tech meeting No. 6 Jacksonville State (8:30 a.m.) and No. 4 Eastern Kentucky playing No. 5 Samford (8:30 a.m.).
The second-round matches will be played on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. (losers' bracket) and 1:30 p.m. (winners' bracket), with the final round being played on Sunday at 8:30 a.m. (fifth- and seventh-place matches) and 1:30 p.m. (first- and third-place matches).
Murray State won the women's tennis championships in 1984, 1987, 2001, 2002 and 2003. The winner of the tournament receives an automatic bid into the NCAA Championships.
