Volleyball signs four for 2005 season

Murray State volleyball head coach David Schwepker announced the signing of four players for the 2005 season.
"We went for ball control," Schwepker said. "Ball control, ball control, ball control. They all came from great club teams, except for Lisa Forchee, who didn't play club. Ball control is the name of this recruiting class."
Joining the 2005 squad will be:
TARA DeMAGE, LSH, 5-11,
Red Bud, Ill. (Jefferson College (Mo.)/Red Bud HS)
Helped Jefferson to a combined 60-22 record in her two seasons...ranked ninth in the nation in digs last season with 769...named to all-conference and all-region teams last year...had 107 kills, 315 digs and 27 aces in her freshman year, when she was named to the all-conference team...helped Red Bud High School to a combined 96-50 record in her four years and regional titles in all four years...helped RBHS to a third-place state finish (24-16), named to all-state and all-conference teams in her senior year, when she was named team MVP and Class A Player of the Year with 274 kills and 52 blocks...sister of former Eastern Illinois standout Kim DeMage.
LISA FORCHEE, MB, 5-10,
Barnhart, Mo. (Windsor HS)
Helped Windsor High School to back-to-back conference championships in her junior and senior years...earned all-conference first team and all-district first-team honors in her junior and senior seasons.
ALYSSA GROVES, LSH/L, 5-8,
Elgin, Ill. (St. Edward HS)
Helped St. Edward High School to a combined 122-40 record in her four seasons, including regional titles in all four years...named to all-state third team, all-area first team and all-conference last year with 305 kills (7 kills per game), 290 digs and 39 aces after helping team to a fourth-place state finish (34-9)...named area MVP and honorary captain last season...in her junior year, earned all-state honorable mention, all-area first team and all-conference honors with 189 kills, 268 digs and 50 aces...played for Club Fusion for seven years, participating in the nationals every year...played libero for 17 Black, which finished ninth in the country in the Open Division.
HEATHER NORRIS, L/S, 5-3,
Naperville, Ill. (Naperville North HS)
Helped Naperville North to a combined 69-2 record in her last two seasons...named to all-conference, all-area and all-city honors last season in helping NNHS to a sectional championship (33-1) with 365 digs...earned all-conference honorable mention in helping NNHS to a supersectional championship (36-1) with 95 digs...played for the club team Sports Performance, where she helped the team to the USA Volleyball National Championships with 412 digs last season...was named to the Championships all-tournament team.
