
Rifle Wins Against Morehead State

The Murray State rifle team outshot three teams from Morehead State today, winning the shoulder-to-shoulder match. Murray State Gold had the top score of 4591 out of a possible 4800, while Murray State Blue had a 4501.
Murray State Gold had the top scores in both air rifle (2313 out of a possible 2400) and smallbore (2278 out of a possible 2400), while Murray State Blue was second in both categories, with a 2300 in air rifle and a 2201 in smallbore.
In air rifle, Bryant Wallizer shot a 586 out of a possible 600 for Murray State Gold, while Cameron Hicks had a 580. Kevin Witbrodt fired a 574, while Dan Belluzzo had a 573.
For Murray State Blue, Brandy Boucherie fired a 579 in air rifle, while Harley Jette and Kasey Meyer each shot a 576 and Erica Meece fired a 569. Individually, Joe Shane shot a 533 in air rifle for Murray State.
In smallbore, for Murray State Gold, Hicks fired a 578 out of a possible 600, while Witbrodt shot a 576. Wallizer shot a 568, while Belluzzo fired a 556.
For Murray State Blue, Shane shot a 563 in smallbore, while Meyer fired a 559. Jette shot a 543, while Meece fired a 534.
Hicks finished the match with the high aggregate score (air rifle and smallbore scores combined) of 1158 out of a possible 1200. Wallizer was second at 1154, while Witbrodt was third at 1150 and Meyer was fourth at 1135. Belluzzo finished with an 1129, while Jette had an 1121, Meece had an 1103 and Shane had a 1096. Boucherie, who shot only in air rifle, finished with a 579.
Murray State will have two weeks to prepare for its next match, a shoulder-to-shoulder competition at Kentucky on Nov. 5.
