Volleyball Still Tops National Digs List

For the sixth straight week and the seventh week of the eight rankings, Murray State leads the nation in digs per game, topping the Division I list with 24.06 digs per game this week. Texas-Arlington is second at 21.54 dpg.
Division I team and individual rankings are released by the NCAA each Tuesday.
For the fifth straight week and the sixth week overall, sophomore libero Heather Norris is among the nation's top 30 with 6.39 digs per game. Norris ranked as high as sixth last week. Amanda McCormick of Ball State leads the nation with 7.14 dpg.
Murray State's win percentage of .800 (16-4) ranks among the top 30 for the fourth time this season, now tied for 27th. The Racers got as high as 20th when they were 15-3 last week.
Freshman setter Cassie Chesney moved up in the national top 30, now at No. 27 with 12.92 assists per game. Chesney cracked the top 30 last week at No. 30 with 12.82 assists per game. Courtney Thompson of Washington leads the nation at 14.53 apg.
Murray State concludes its four-match road swing this weekend. The Racers (16-4, 8-2 OVC) visit Eastern Kentucky (12-12, 5-5 OVC) on Friday at 6 p.m. CT, then go to Morehead State (17-9, 7-3 OVC) for a match on Saturday at 1 p.m. CT.
