For the seventh straight week, the Murray State women's volleyball team has more digs per game than any other team in Division I. The Racers average 23.87 digs per game and have topped the national digs list in eight of the nine weeks that the rankings have been released by the NCAA.
Sophomore libero Heather Norris moved back up to sixth in the nation with 6.41 digs per game, equaling her highest ranking of the season and matching the ranking she achieved the week of Oct. 15.
Also this afternoon, the NCAA released its Rating Percentage Index (RPI), which is used to help rank teams for the post-season NCAA Tournament. Murray State ranked 114th out of 320 teams in Division I for matches through Oct. 22. Other OVC schools included Jacksonville State, which was 90th, Tennessee State was 111th and Morehead State was 116th.
Murray State returns to action this Friday when the Racers host Ohio Valley Conference rival Samford. The match begins at 7 p.m. in Racer Arena, and admission is free.
