MSU Women's Tennis Team Looks To Turn Chemistry Into Success In 2006

The Murray State University women's tennis team did not set goals this season centered on a certain number of wins or championships. The Racers only goal is to become a unified team with all players working as one unit. They believe if that single goal can be accomplished, wins and championships will come on their own.
“Their goal from the first day of classes in the fall was to become a unified team, working together and relying on one another to achieve success,” said Murray State Head Coach Connie Keasling, now in her 17th season of leading the Racer program. “They have reached that goal. They have a great time together and are enjoying being a team.”
The Racers open their 2006 season on Feb. 12 when they host the
Keasling welcomes back just three starters from last season's 15-7 team that finished with an 8-1 mark in the Ohio Valley Conference and placed second in the league tournament. The three departed starters accounted for 46 percent of the teams victories in singles matches and played a part in 64 percent of MSU's doubles wins.
This year's squad of six players consists of two freshmen, three juniors and one senior.
