Women's Soccer Post Shutout In First Spring Match

Murray State University's women's soccer team opened its spring schedule with a 5-0 win over West Kentucky Premier on Sunday (March 12) at Cutchin Field on the MSU campus.

Kara Carlile, Rebekah Clay, Kellyn Robison and Lauren Falls accounted for Murray State's five goals. Clay tied for the team lead with seven goals last fall. Falls scored two times on Sunday.

Jen Nowak, Tara Eby, Sara Struve, Kiley Price, Clay and Kayla Jones were credited with assists.

The Racers limited West Kentucky Premier to no goals and no corner kicks. The combined shutout was posted by Annie Fortier and Lacey Latimer.

“We had a crowd of about 150 on a beautiful Sunday afternoon,” said MSU Assistant Coach Michael Lovett. “Everyone was able to see playing time during the match."
