Murray State Women's Tennis Beats Morehead, Sweeps OVC Road Trip

Murray State swept all three doubles matches and lost just two games each at number one and two doubles. Anne Pennington and Casady Pruitt defeated Laura Ferreira and Fernanda Chiaparini, 8-2, at number two doubles.
In singles play, the Racers claimed straight-set victories in five of the six matches. Rachael Lask lost two games on her way to a 6-0 and 6-2 victory over Chiaparini at number two singles. Pruitt lost only one game in beating Ferreira 6-0 and 6-1 at number three singles.
After falling in a tiebreaker in the first set, Adriana Alvarez came back to defeat Morehead State's Leah Lobnitz at number five singles, winning the second set 6-1 and the third set 10-4.
The Racers continue Ohio Valley Conference play on Tuesday when they host the defending conference champion, the University of Tennessee-Martin, in Murray, Ky., at the Bennie Purcell Tennis Courts. The match is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m.
