Men's Tennis Closes Regular Season With Win At Austin Peay

The Murray State men's tennis team closed out its regular-season schedule with a 5-2 win at Austin Peay. The Racers now prepare for the upcoming O'Reilly Ohio Valley Conference Championship, to be played April 21-23 in Nashville, Tenn.
For Murray State, MSU's Fadi Zamjaoui defeated Ankur Singla at No. 1 singles 6-3, 6-2, while Dmytro Hryhorash beat Lucas DeBrito at No. 2 singles 6-2, 6-3, and Jeff Lester won at No. 5 singles over Sean Hawk 6-1, 6-2. MSU's Clayton Clark won at No. 6 singles by default.
Nicholas Ksiezopolski fell at No. 3 singles to APSU's Andrew Naidu 6-1, 6-3, while Yuri Pompeu lost at No. 4 singles to Patrick Puertolas 6-7, 6-2 (10-7 in the tie-breaking game).
In doubles play, Hryhorash/Zamjaoui beat Naidu/Singla 8-6 in the eight-game pro set at No. 1 doubles, while Ksiezopolski/Pompeu fell at No. 2 doubles to DeBrito/Puertolas 8-6. Clark/Lester won at No. 3 doubles by default, giving the Racers the doubles point, 2-1.
Murray State ended the regular season with a record of 6-11, 4-5 in OVC play, while Austin Peay fell to 5-17 overall, 1-8 in OVC play.
