MSU Volleyball Participates In Relay For Life

The Murray State Volleyball team experienced a team building experience and helped out the fight against cancer at the same time Friday when they participated in the local version of the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. The
MSU Volleyball raised a little more than $1,400 for the event.
Raising money for the fight against cancer hits home for the Racers after MSU head coach Dave Schwepker's wife Kendra has battled cancer in the last year and a half.
“Kendra is one of our big reasons for getting involved, but most of the kids on the team have been affected by cancer in some form or another,” Schwepker said.
The MSU Volleyball squad had a goal of collecting 100 dollars per player and the goal was met.
“It gave us a tremendous sense of satisfaction,” Schwepker said. “We stayed at the relay all night; this was a way for our team to help people and get to know each other as well.”
Katie Kemezys, a junior felt the team enjoyed the relay. "It was for a good cause, we had a great time and we're all glad we participated," Kemezys said.
