Volleyball Falls To Host North Florida 3-1

The Murray State women's volleyball team took its first loss of the season at the UNF Labor Day Classic, falling to host North Florida 3-1. The Racers (1-1) face Appalachian State later today.
Murray State lost Game 1 30-26, but came back to win Game 2 30-28. After that, the Osprey offense kicked into high gear, as UNF hit .278 over the next two games, while MSU had more attack errors than kills, ceding the next two games, 30-20 and 30-15, to North Florida.
Junior outside hitter Tara DeMage had a team-high 14 kills to go with 16 digs, while senior middle blocker Katie Kemezys had 13 kills, hitting .270 with only three errors in 37 attacks.
Sophomore libero Heather Norris had a team-high 26 digs, while freshman setter Cassie Chesney had 25 and sophomore outside hitter Alison Mugler had 20. Chesney also handed out 41 assists for the Racers.
North Florida was paced by 16 kills from Magen Wood. Emily Kohler added 15, while Amy Stroder had 14 and Maegan Weisert had 12. Tara Taylor had a match-high 42 digs in the match, while Allison O'Neill had a match-high 10 blocks.
