DeMage Named OVC Volleyball Offensive Player Of The Week

Senior middle hitter Tara DeMage was named the Ohio Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week, according to balloting done by the league's sports information contacts.
DeMage led the OVC this week with 5.40 points per game. She averaged 4.30 kills per game and had an attack percentage of .318, making only eight errors in 110 attacks over three matches. She also had six aces and repelled an average of 4.60 digs per game, a higher average than four of the 11 Defensive Player of the Week nominees. She also had eight blocks this week.
Against Southeast Missouri State on Tuesday, she had a match-high 15 kills and hit .467, making only one error in 30 attacks. She also had 14 digs and four blocks in that match. At Tennessee Tech on Friday, the native of Red Bud, Ill., had 15 kills, 19 digs and four blocks, hitting .293 with three errors in 41 attacks. At Tennessee State on Saturday, MSU's No. 13 had 13 kills and 13 digs.
Murray State (10-8, 7-2 OVC) is currently on a seven-match win streak, with all of those being OVC matches, six of those on the road and five of those being shutouts. The Racers step out of OVC play on Tuesday, visiting Lipscomb at 7 p.m. in the first-ever volleyball meeting between the two teams.
