Racer Women's Tennis Falls At Missouri

Anna Lask earned a straight set victory at No. 1 singles against the University of Missouri, but Murray State University's women's tennis team fell 6-1 to the Tigers today in Columbia, Mo. The Racers fall to 1-3 on the season while Missouri evens up its record at 2-2.

Lask beat Mizzou's Erika Josbena, 6-4 and 6-2, at No. 1 singles to earn MSU's lone point.

Missouri swept all three doubles matches to grab the early 1-0 lead. Lyndsay Ottosen and Casady Pruitt, playing together for the first time, gave Josbena and Amanda Pratzel a strong match at No. 2 doubles before falling 7-5 in the tiebreaker.

In singles play, the Tigers picked up straight set wins at No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6 singles, highlighted by Kaitlin Dunham's 6-0 and 6-2 victory over Ottosen at No. 5 singles.

The Racers battled hard at No. 2 and No. 4 singles. Rachael Lask won the first set over Pratzel at No. 2 singles 6-4. Pratzel came back and won a second set tiebreaker, 7-4, to force a third set. Lask fell 6-3 in the deciding tilt.

Wagner jumped out in front of Pruitt at No. 4 singles with a 6-3 win in the first set. The Murray State senior came back to win the second set 6-2. The third set went to a tiebreaker and Wagner edged Pruitt 7-5.

The Racers will play at St. Louis University on Sunday at 8:30 a.m.
