Racer Men's Tennis Comes From Behind To Beat Austin Peay

Four
Austin Peay (5-19, 1-8 OVC) came out of the gate quick and won all three doubles matches. Leonardo Locatelli and Leandro Tolosa-Zenklusen got things started with an 8-4 win at No. 2 doubles over MSU's Lester and Yuri Pompeu. Patrick Puertolas and Andrew Solarski clinched the doubles point for APSU with an 8-4 victory at No. 3 over Hunter Gerlach and Chris Horton.
Moments later the Governors completed the sweep when Lucas DeBrito and Nick Gallauer finished off Hryhorash and Zamjaoui, 8-6, at No. 1 doubles.
Locatelli drew APSU within 3-2 when he edged Gerlach in three sets. After losing the first set 6-1, Locatelli rebounded to win the second set 6-4 and then won a close third set 7-6 (7-4).
Lester clinched the match for MSU with a three set victory at No. 4 over Tolosa-Zenklusen. Lester dropped the first set 6-2 but stormed back to win the second set 6-1. The senior finished off the comeback with a 6-3 win in the third set.
Zamjaoui set the final score when he rebounded from a 1-0 deficit to beat DeBrito at No. 1 singles, 3-6, 6-4 and 6-4.
The Racers have concluded their regular season schedule and will begin play in the Ohio Valley Conference tournament on Friday.
