Racer volleyball head coach David Schwepker announced the signing of Becca Lamb for the 2007 season.
Lamb, a 5-11 outside hitter from Highland, Ill., competed on the Breese Mater Dei team for four seasons, bolstering the Knights to a combined 113-43 (.724) record over those four seasons.
Last season, Lamb was named all-state honorable mention and all-area first team, helping Mater Dei to a 30-9 record and reaching the sectional final in the Illinois State Tournament. In 2005, she helped the Knights to a 35-6 mark and was named all-area honorable mention. In 2004 and 2005, she bolstered the Knights to back-to-back Elite 8 appearances in the Illinois State Tournament.
Lamb is a four-year member of the National Honor Society and a four-year member of the honor roll.
"We are really fortunate to get an athlete like Becca this late in the signing season," said Schwepker. "She comes from a good program, and she is a great athlete. She also plays for a good club team, St. Louis CYC, which just qualified for nationals."
She joins 2007 signees Sara Hayden of Louisville, Ky., and Ashley Nenninger of Marble Hill, Mo.
Murray State went 19-8 last season, finishing in third place in the 11-team Ohio Valley Conference with a league mark of 11-5.
