Racers Finish One Round At Nationals

Members of last year's Murray State rifle team have each completed one event at the USA Shooting Rifle and Pistol National Championships, being held this week at Fort Benning, Ga.
MSU coach Morgan Hicks shot a 776 out of a possible 800 in the women's air rifle competition, tying for 15th in the 85-shooter event, while Brandy Boucherie, who completed her athletic eligibility last season, fired a 761, tying for 43rd.
On the men's side, sophomore Bryant Wallizer shot a 2240 out of a possible 2400 in the men's three-position rifle competition, finishing in 16th in the 46-shooter junior division and in 34th place in the 85-shooter field overall.
Today (Wednesday), the women begin competition in the three-position smallbore event and the prone event, while Wallizer takes part in the prone competition, then will finish the championships by competing in the air rifle event.
