MSU's Derrick Townsel On ESPN SportsCenter Top-10 Plays

Murray State receiver Derrick Townsel was a big part of the Racers attack Thursday in the 2007 season opener at Louisville's Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.

Townsel made an incredible catch in the first quarter that ESPN included in its list of top plays on the Thursday/Friday SportsCenter.

Townsel's one handed grab came on a 3rd and five play from the Murray State 40-yard line in the first quarter. MSU quarterback Jeff Ehrhardt lofted a pass over the middle, Townsel reached out with his right hand and snatched the pass for a 13 yard gain to the Louisville 47 and a Racer first down.

Townsel caught a touchdown pass moments later to tie the game at 7-7.

The sophomore from Memphis, Tenn. ended the night with four catches for 20 yards.

The Racers lost the game 73-10 and face Illinois State in Bloomington Saturday, Sept. 8 at 6 p.m.
