MSU Builds Early Lead - Falls To ISU In BracketBusters Game

The Murray State Racers dropped a 79-62 game to visiting
The way the Racers started the game, it was hard to believe the way it ended.
Danero Thomas personally made sure the Racers got off to a good start when he scored MSU's first 10 points for a 10-4 lead only 3:14 into the contest.
The Racers hot shooting continued with baskets from Tony Easley, Ray George, and Bruce Carter for a 23-10 MSU lead with 13:36 left in the half.
Saying the Racers were on fire, was a huge understatement. MSU hit 10-of-11 from the field to start the game for nearly 91 percent.
Carter scored for a 35-30 MSU lead at the 3:00 mark, but the half ended with the Sycamores on a 10-2 run and a 40-37 lead.
Bruce Carter and Danero Thomas had 15 points each to lead the Racers in the first half.
MSU had 13 assists on their 18 first half field goals.
The Racers started the second half with a 9-2 run to go up by a 46-42 count on a basket by Danero Thomas with 16:54 left.
Carter hit the Racers' first three in 17:32 to give MSU a 56-52 lead at the 10:58 mark.
Carter hit another three with 5:45 left to cut the ISU lead to three (63-60), but when Harry Marshall hit another three, it started a Sycamore run that put the Racers behind 72-60 with 3:59 left.
Carter led the way for MSU with 21 points on 5-of-6 shooting.
The Racers now prepare for a very important two-game finish to the OVC schedule next week with a Thursday game on ESPNU against Tennessee Tech. The game at the
