Women's Tennis Eases to 7-0 Victory Over TSU

The Murray State women's tennis team ran into very few obstacles on Tuesday as the Racers dropped only two games on their way to a 7-0 victory over Tennessee State at the Purcell Courts. The victory improved the Racers to 9-3 overall and 3-0 in Ohio Valley Conference action.
MSU got things started very quickly in doubles as Lynsday Ottosen and Alexis Webb rolled to an 8-0 victory at No. 2 doubles, while Lynsey Bocheneck and Katelyn Fulcher were just behind them with the same score. The top doublese team of Angela McGahee and Anne Pennington did not play their best match of the season, but won their 14th straight match, 8-1.
Singles action was much the same as the Racers won the first five matches by identical 6-0, 6-0 scores. Webb got things started at No. 3 and was followed just seconds later by McGahee at No. 1. Ottosen moved up to No. 2 and was the third to finish, just ahead of Adriana Alvarez and Ashley Pierson at No. 4 an No. 5, respectively. Fulcher closed out sweep with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Lezlie Knight at No. 6.
The Racers return to the court on March 28 when they travel to take on Morehead State. First serve is set for 2:30 p.m.
